Ellen S. Simpson
Ellen S. Simpson brings more than 27 years of distinguished service and experience in all aspects of trademark law to TrademarkShoppe. During the course of her career, Ellen has personally filed more than a thousand applications for federal registration and procured many hundreds of registrations. She is a tireless advocate for her clients, large and small. She has handled many trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, and argued successfully before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ellen is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), an international organization dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property to foster consumer trust and protection and promote global growth. She has attended many continuing education seminars at INTA meetings around the world to keep abreast of the law, both domestic and foreign.
Ms. Simpson possesses an extraordinary understanding of trademark law, including federal law under the Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 1051 et seq.), as well as state, common law, and international trademark laws, standards, and procedures. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Florida.
In addition to her extensive trademark experience, Ms. Simpson brings significant experience in the federal court system to our team, having served for seven years as the confidential law clerk to United States Magistrate Judge Leslie G. Foschio of the Western District of New York. Ellen considers herself privileged to have represented hundreds of clients in thousands of matters, from individuals, to start-ups and entrepreneurs, to multinational corporations, always providing personal attention, diligence, and genuine care.
